Holiday Park Wi-Fi
Reliable WiFi Across Your Holiday Park
Providing good WiFi across a holiday park isn’t straightforward. You’re often trying to connect lodges, caravans, communal buildings and outdoor spaces spread across a large site, sometimes with trees, difficult terrain and limited cabling infrastructure between them.
At the same time, guests increasingly expect the same reliable connection they have at home.
Fusion WiFi designs and installs wireless networks specifically around these challenges. Whether you’re trying to fix unreliable WiFi, extend an existing network or provide connectivity across a new development, we’ll look at your site and design the infrastructure around how it’s actually used.
Good WiFi Is Now Part of the Guest Experience
Guests arrive with phones, tablets, laptops and games consoles. They want to stream films, keep the kids entertained, plan days out and, increasingly, work while they’re away.
A connection that works brilliantly at reception but disappears when someone reaches their lodge isn’t going to cut it.
But guest access is only part of the picture.
The same underlying infrastructure may also be supporting reception and booking systems, card payments, EPOS, staff devices, CCTV, entertainment facilities and other connected technology around the park.
Getting the network right therefore isn’t simply about offering free WiFi. It’s increasingly part of the infrastructure that keeps the park running.
Every Park Presents a Different Challenge
There’s no sensible off-the-shelf answer to holiday park WiFi.
A compact lodge development has very different requirements from a large touring park with hundreds of pitches. Older sites may have limited cabling infrastructure, while newer developments may want connectivity designed in from the outset.
That’s why we start by understanding the site.
We can survey your existing network, identify weak spots and capacity issues, and establish where your guests and operational systems actually need connectivity. From there, we’ll design the network and specify the right combination of equipment.
That can include:
- Wireless site surveys and network planning
- Enterprise-grade indoor and outdoor access points
- Point-to-point wireless links where appropriate
- Switching and network infrastructure
- Structured cabling where required
- Secure network configuration
- Installation and commissioning
- Testing and optimisation
- Ongoing monitoring and technical support
It’s not about putting as many access points around the park as possible. It’s about designing them to work together properly.
Reaching the Difficult Parts of the Park
Some of the biggest challenges arise when you need to get connectivity somewhere that doesn’t have an obvious physical network connection.
Running new cabling across a large established park isn’t always practical. Depending on the site, wireless links can help bridge buildings or extend the network into areas where conventional cabling would be disruptive or expensive.
We can design coverage around lodges and holiday homes, touring and caravan pitches, reception areas, bars and restaurants, leisure facilities, entertainment venues and outdoor communal areas.
The solution depends on the park rather than forcing the park to fit the technology.
What Happens When the Park Is Full?
Coverage is only half the problem.
A network can appear perfectly good on a quiet Tuesday in March and struggle when the park fills up in August.
Hundreds of guests can mean thousands of connected devices, many of them streaming, gaming or making video calls at the same time.
We take expected occupancy and usage into account when designing the network so that both coverage and capacity are considered from the outset.
It’s also important to look at the internet connection feeding the network. There’s little point installing excellent wireless infrastructure if the connection behind it can’t support the demand.
Keep Guests Separate From Your Business
Your guests don’t need access to the same network as your reception team, payment terminals or operational systems.
We can securely separate guest traffic from staff and business systems while using the same underlying infrastructure.
This allows different parts of the network to be configured according to their purpose, helping protect critical systems without compromising the guest experience.
Make More of Your Guest WiFi
For parks that want more than straightforward guest access, Social WiFi can be added to the network.
A branded login portal can make connecting more professional while also opening up opportunities to understand and communicate with guests.
Depending on what you need, that could include visitor analytics, customer feedback, promotions, marketing integrations and insights into repeat visits.
It’s an optional layer. Our priority is making sure the wireless network underneath it works properly first.
Improving an Existing Holiday Park Network
You don’t necessarily need to rip everything out and start again.
If your current WiFi is unreliable, has poor coverage or simply hasn’t kept pace with the growth of the park, we can assess what’s already there.
Existing equipment that still does its job can potentially remain. Where there are weaknesses, we’ll identify what needs upgrading, repositioning or replacing.
That can make improving an established network considerably more practical than a complete replacement.
Planning a New Development?
It’s much easier to get wireless infrastructure right when it’s considered early.
If you’re developing new lodges, extending a park or creating new leisure and hospitality facilities, Fusion WiFi can work alongside the wider project to plan connectivity before everything is built.
That means cabling, network equipment and access point locations can be considered as part of the development rather than retrofitted afterwards.
From First Survey to a Working Network
Fusion WiFi can look after the complete project.
We’ll assess the site, design the network, specify and supply the hardware, install and configure it and then test the finished network in the environment where it’s actually going to be used.
Once it’s live, we can continue to monitor and support it.
So rather than dealing separately with a hardware supplier, cabling company, WiFi provider and support company, you’ve got one team responsible for making the network work.
Can you provide WiFi across a large holiday park?
Yes. Large, spread-out sites are one of the situations where proper wireless design matters most. We’ll look at the layout, existing infrastructure, accommodation and areas requiring coverage before designing the network.
Can you provide WiFi to individual lodges and caravans?
Yes. How we achieve it will depend on the park, the type of accommodation and the infrastructure available. We’ll determine the most appropriate approach during the survey and design stage.
What if we can't run network cables everywhere?
That’s common on established holiday parks. Where appropriate, point-to-point wireless links and other networking technologies can extend connectivity to locations where installing conventional cabling isn’t practical.
Will guests be able to stream TV and films?
They can, provided the network and underlying internet connection have been designed with sufficient capacity. We consider expected guest numbers, devices and likely usage rather than looking at signal strength alone.
Can you improve the WiFi system we already have?
Yes. We’d assess the existing network first. It may be possible to retain some infrastructure and concentrate investment on the areas causing problems rather than replacing everything.
Can the network support staff and operational systems too?
Yes. Guest, staff and operational traffic can be separated securely while using the same underlying network infrastructure.
Can you provide outdoor WiFi?
Yes. We use equipment designed for outdoor environments and can provide coverage for pitches, leisure areas and other external spaces.
Do you provide Social WiFi?
Yes. Social WiFi can be added if you want branded guest login, visitor analytics or additional marketing functionality. It isn’t a requirement for running a Fusion WiFi network.
Can we expand the network later?
Yes. If future development is likely, we’ll take that into account during the design so the network can be expanded as the park grows.
Do you provide ongoing support?
Yes. We can provide ongoing monitoring, management and technical support once the network is live.
WiFi That Works Across Your Park
