You know the story.  You’re in the pub or in a club in the middle of town.  It’s busy.  You’ve got no mobile signal but you need to get a message to someone that you’re in a different pub to the one you said you’d be in.  What are your options?

The first thing you’d want to do is get online, so you pull out your phone and check for free WiFi.  Hooray, it’s offered in the pub.  You eagerly connect, hoping to be online in seconds because your friend is probably in the other pub by now.  But no, it’s a long online registration form that wants your life history.  Frustrated, you leave the pub and find some 3G signal outside.

Familiar story?  Offering free WiFi is a great idea, because your customers expect it.  But offering bad WiFi is worse than not offering it at all.  Why make it difficult for your customers to get online?

Social WiFi changes all that.  Your customers can log in simply using their social media account (the main four are supported;Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn and Twitter).  Within seconds they’ll be browsing the web and meeting up with their friends online.

That’s not the end of the story though.  By offering Social WiFi, you also gain access to a whole plethora of information about your customers, including names, email addresses, dates of birth and relationship status.  You can use this information to increase the reach of your email newsletters, or send offers inviting them to return.

How about gaining a Facebook like for every single person who logs on?  That’s powerful stuff, and it’s just the tip of the iceberg.  Increase your reach and be more relevant.  Your customers will thank you for it.
